Question:

5k runners?

How long should it take an average teenage female 5k runner to finish her run? How many breaks would she take (for water and to catch her breath)? How long would they be? Would those breaks be full stops or walking breaks?

My current jogging routine is 5k, and I would love to be able to improve my time enough to start doing 5k charity runs.

  1. it depends on the person. Try to run the entire way, though. Set a steady pace and try to keep it the entire way. you can slow down to grab water

  2. I would say the average time is 27:00. But if you really want to do good, don't stop at all the whole time.

  3. A teen female who considers them self a runner would be any where from 19 to 26 minutes.  A teen who doesn't train a lot but runs when ever they can will come in around 24 to 32 minutes.  Walk whenever you feel you need to ...... 5K charity runs are for everyone, I see times anywhere from 15 minutes to walkers doing it in a hour.  Just get out and do them, don't be ashamed if your not as fast as you'd like to be.........only get better by doing them and training for them.  Good Luck
