  1. The answer is 17.

Your x value is 4 so substitute it in the equation. That is, put the x value where ever you see x.

    You should get 5(4)-3

    5(4) is 20 (5x4=20)

    20-3=17

  2. 5x-3 =

    (5*4)-3 =

    20-3 =

    17

  3. Just substitute x for 4, so it would be

    =(5 * 4) - 3

I hope you can work it out from there (seriously!)

  4. 5 x 4 = 20 - 3 = 17

  5. Are you sure you got the question right?

If you weren't paying attention in class, how do you know you are working on the right problem?

  6. first u need to substitue x for 4,

    so the question is

    5 X 4 - 3

    (5X4)-3

    so

    (20)-3

    which is 17

  7. 5 times x

    is 5 times 4

    which is 20

    20 - 3 equals 17

  8. 17

  9. yep 17
