6-2 Volleyball Rotation For Back Row?

Ok. I need some serious help FAST!! I always play back row and I rotate in after the server has served. Pretty much I go in on serve receive. Please answer these questions:

1. After the first pass on serve receive, where do I run too?

2. Once we rotated I am now middle. I know that I am up at the

10 foot line and I stay there until serve receive, and then I go back to the middle back position. (No Question Here)

3. Once I rotate to Left Back where do I go when we serve?

4. Where do I go on serve receive?

  1. 1) From what you describe your team is playing Middle Back. This means when you're on the side positions int he back row you must cover directly behind the blockers (front row players in front of you) and anything short in front of the middle back players. You cover dinks over the front row and anything hit at you  cross court.

    3) Much like your service corner position, the left back positon will play up behind the hitter/blocker in front of you and cover cross court hits and anything in front of the middle back player.

    4) Yo will be on or near the back line in the left back corner. After service receive you will move up to the 10 foot line.

  2. Based on what you described about moving to middle back after serve receive, I am assuming that you are the libero or DS on your team, and your "base position" is middle back.

1> after the first pass on serve receive, you should "run" to middle back.

2> you got it right (I used to play the same position when I was in back row). Middle back is your "base position".

3> when serving, you switch to middle back as soon as your server hits the ball.

4> when serve receive, you take the first pass at left back, before switching to middle back. If any other team member goes for the first pass, you switch to the middle back as soon as possible.

By the way, if your coach decided not to switch **back row players**, the answer to your questions 1, 3, and 4 would be "you move to the 10-yard line without switching to middle back".

  3. talk to ur coach, cuz thats wat i did! and now i know
