  1. idk if its to late. but for 6-2. the setter is always from the back.. giving you 3 hitters in the front... usually who ever is in front row. they jus play as normally. block, kill, cover... the back row has to cover... since there is only 2 players covering.. .and makin the back row setter run everywhere. if your not the setter. jus act like she isnt there. play the spot you are in like normally, n if you are in back you just gotta cover more.. your setter will run to her spot in the front for the set.. if you are the setter. no matter where you rotated (back row) always run to the right back "your home spot" one your team has the ball run to the front to set it up. once you rotate back to the front you are a hitter (or subed out)

sorry if thats confusing.. took me a while to get that till the coach jus started 5-1 and i was the only setter all around,, its hard and gonna take some time

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. There are 2 back row setters.

When in serve receive, your coach will probably shift things so that the setter is close to their home offensive position which is just to the right of the middle of the court near the net.  When your team transitions to defense from offense, your back row setter will move to the right back defensive position.  (That way, they are closest to their home offensive position.)

When your team is serving, your back row setter starts in their legal position but switches to the right back position as soon as the ball is contacted.

If your setters hit when they are in the front row, most teams have them switch to right front.

If I have confused you more, please feel free to contact me.  I know it is confusing at first.

  3. I know it is really confuzing, but the setter always pushes up on serve recieve, runs to front row base, and then goes to her back row base, and that's always how serve-recieve works.  When we're serving, everybody goes to base and that's it.  It's really simple when you get the hang of it!!  BTW, you shouldn't be missing practices this early in the season.  It makes u look bad!!
