  1. The 6-2 is very easy once you do it several times.  But no one except your coach can give you an exact answer.  There are thousands of different serve receive formations.  However, I can give some general ideas.

    Serve receive formations first.

As the middle front, the coach is going to want you in the offense as soon as possible.  The serve receive formations while you are in the front row will show that idea.

LEFT FRONT-When you are in the left front on serve receive, the formation may have you move more toward the middle of the court or they may want you to take the first swing outside and then switch to the middle as the ball goes over the net.

MIDDLE FRONT-This is obviously the easiest position for you.  You will start and stay in the middle.

RIGHT FRONT-  Again, your coach may adjust the serve receive to get you more in the middle of the court.  Or they may just have you take the first swing on the right side and then switch to the middle as soon as the ball crosses the net.

RIGHT BACK-You will pass the first ball on serve receive and then switch.  I am not sure if your coach would want you playing middle back or left back.  The right back position on defense will be your back row setter.  After the ball goes over, you will switch to middle back or left back.

MIDDLE BACK-You will pass the middle on the serve receive and then either switch to middle back or left back.

LEFT BACK-Same as middle back.  You will pass left back and then either stay or switch depending on your coach.

When your team is serving, you will switch to middle front when you are in the front row as soon as the serve is contacted by your server.  When you are in the back row, you will switch to your middle back or left back defensive position as soon as your server contacts the ball.  (Or as soon as you contact the ball when you are right back and serving.)

I am sorry that I can not be more help.  Your coach is the only one that can give you EXACT answers.

  2. For the middle, 6-2 is easiest because when your in the front, your always in the middle!  Only on serve recieve you then run to the middle.  Just listen to Gordon, cuz he knows it way better than me, but i know for service you just stand in the middle and everybody runs past you.  :D

  3. Okay.

To rotate in a 6-2 team simply rotate to the right in the front row and to the left in the back row.

    Okay.

Middle Front: Move the front right hand corner of the court.[[left from your spot]][[near the net]]

Right Front: Backpeddle to the back right hand corner of the court.[[where you would serve]]

Right Back: Side step[[to the left]] the the middle of the back row.[[next to server]]

Middle Back: Shuffle to the left back corner of the court.[[in back of the person at the net]]

Left Back: Run straight in front of you to the net.[[front left hand corner]]

Left Front: Step to the right of yourself to the center of the net.[[where you would have started if you rotated completely around the court.]]

Then just start over again.  Dont worry, I was really confused at the beginning of my season too..

    Just relax and Good Luck!!
