  1. A 6-2 rotation means you have all three attackers in the front row at all times. I have no idea why it's called a 6-2 since you can only have 6 players on the court and a 5-1 means 5 hitters and 1 setter.

  2. The 6-2 rotation is fairly easy as long as you think about it this way. On the floor at all times you will have 2 middle hitters, 2 outside hitters and 2 setters (or substitutes for them). And each position is exactly opposite of each other (example...every time a middle hitter goes to serve, the other middle hitter is just coming to the front row, etc.).

Usually the confusing part is the fact that in a 6-2 offense, the setter is a backrow player that sets to all 3 front row players (the outside, the middle and the other setter).

A lot of times all of these players will not play all of the way around the 6 spots. The most usual substitutes are the middle hitters going out of the game when they get to the back row (usually for the libero) and coming back in when they get to the front row. Also sometimes there is a right side hitter that will come in for a setter when they get to the front row.

  3. all a 6 2 means is that the setter is always coming from the back row. For instance if your in serve one youll be in the back row for 3 rotations, then when u rotate to the front row u dont set anymore, your opposite comes from the back row to set and now when your in the front row, u are the right side hitter, its just u set when you in the back row and hit when your in the front row

  4. idk much about volleyball. but when i was in high school we were 1st in state. you should ask someone from Vista Ridge High School

  5. if you know what the 6-2 is that means you have 2 setters and they set from the back row.

that means when youre in the front row youre the rightside blocker/hitter and the other setter is back row. the don't acctually set from backrow but they run up to set. wich means youre the back up setter incase the setter gets the first ball on defence.

    good luck!

  6. A 6-2 rotation is when 3 hitters are available in front row.

Meaning your active setter is in back row while the opposite setter is in front ready to hit. When you've made 3 rotations the opposite setter that was hitting is now in back row and is now the active setter. So when its time for the setter they come out of back row and go to the setters spot. This helps make sure that there are enough options for offense.

    hope that helps!

  7. Basically, as a setter in the 6-2 offense what you need to know is this:

When you are on the front row, you will be a hitter, most likely on the opposite or weak side. It also means, that if the setter opposite of you (the one in the back row when you are on the front row) has to make a dig or take the first contact on your side, you need to help out by making the set.
