6-7 days constipation and Fleet Babylax e***a

my husband had back surgery 6 days ago.  he is taking percocet.  He has not had a bowel movement since bfore the surgery. he has been taking milk of magnesia twice a day and colace twice a day.  he still can't go.  He is bloated and uncomfortable and says he cannot eat.  I was told to give him an e***a.   I used a fleet but it did not work. I was told to use a 2 qt e***a since he is feeling so bad.  I never did this before.  I did buy the kit. What do I do and is his safe
