This morning my six and a half mth old was standing up in his pack and play alone leaning on the side of course tho. Is it normal for that young of a baby to be standing already like that?

  1. Since he is doing it on his own then you dont have to worry about bowed legs. All babies have somewhat bowed legs anyway. He will be fine as long as he is doing it himself.

  2. Babies have their own timetable. Yours is ready to stand. If he couldn't do it, he wouldn't.

  3. My son is trying very hard to do this (born 2/22).  He can do it but not for long.  He probably has very strong legs.  Look out, you're going to be chasing him soon!!!

  4. Congrats...baby's know best..leave him to that ( be right behind so he doesnt land right down and fall on his head) and let him explore...enjoy mommy...

  5. this is early but perfectly normal. Don't let people worry you about a babies legs being bowed. Almost all babies legs are bowed early on. Congrats on a healthy bay. That is exactly what this shows.

  6. yes and no it is said that if your child grows up to walk before he or she can walk they will have a learning disability just like if you learn to dunk a basketball before you learn to shoot you will have problems if he has learned to crawl then he is fine.

  7. My little guy is trying to do the same thing at 6 and a half months :).  I think the only thing we need to be careful of is that they don't know how to catch themselves when they fall.  Be sure there are no hard toys in his pack-n-play with him that he might bump his head on if he lands hard.

  8. absolutely, that is wonderful. my son started at 8 months and my daughter just started and she is 9 months!

  9. As long as the child is doing it on their own it is fine. It does not cause bowed legs. Please see the article below :-)

  10. My son started doing the same thing at that age and still does now at 7 months. Not all babies pull up early, but there is nothing wrong with it.

  11. That's a bit early...watch his legs don't bow!

  12. normal.

  13. Why would you think it is bad?  It's a good thing.  Just enjoy his progress.
