6 disc cd player in 2002 explorer won't work

Question

my 6 disc cd player hasn't been working in my 2002 explorer for about 6 months now. it first started giving me problems by not playing the cds...then went to not loading or ejecting them...always says 'cd error'. how do i go about fixing it? should i simply replace it? where would i go to get another just like it? what would you suggest?
