Question:

6 month old and flea bites?

My poor little girl woke up the other day with about 20 bites on her! We thought it was a spider, but the RN that lives next to us said they are from sand fleas and they are really bad when the weather changes and what-not. And that she is allergic to flea bites and not to worry. So, we bug bombed, but I want to know if there is a GOOD itch relief cream AND if there is a bug spray that will keep away these darn fleas!! We have no pets, but her grandma does, so we told her to make sure her cats don't go outside. We didn't notice any fleas landing on her that day when she was outside but I still feel HORRIBLE. I have them all over my legs, but thought they were mosquitos. Any help?????

  1. Since she is so young I would check with her pediatrician before putting anything on her. A lukewarm bath with some baking soda in it might help the itching.

  2. Sand fleas are impossible to see.. you shouldn't blame yourself. Heck, that's why they're sometimes called no see-um's.

cortisone cream might work but in that it's an infant, you should likely see a doctor for specifics.  check out the flea bites info below - there are a lot of people afflicted with this sort of thing and there are a ton of potential solutions.
