  1. It is six weeks.  When I went through in 2002 they were talking about making it 8 weeks, but that is all it is, talk.  We will see it when if it ever happens, but don't count on it.

  2. Its been upgraded to 8 weeks to incorporate the AEF training. Since the demands on the AF have changed, the training needs have changed.

Admin jobs cycle, sometimes there's a lot, sometimes not so much.  You can let your recruiter know that you are ready to go sooner, sometimes people drop out etc and there may be an unexpected opening that you could fill.

Also, AFPC stands for Air Force Personnel Center, not command.

  3. It's still 6 weeks and probably will always be that way.  They have been talking about switching to eight weeks back when my dad was in twenty years ago and still have not done it.  Administration jobs don't come along very often so it could be a very long wait.  Also some recruiters get jobs sooner than others, make sure your recruiter is checking the jobs for you everyday.

  4. The additional 2 weeks is to be added to the program on November 1, 2008. The training will be 8-1/2 weeks long and has been tailored to incorporate some of the additional warfighting skills within the current program. This is straight from Air Force Personnel Command (AFPC)
