Question:

6"x9" Speakers??

I am wanting to replace my factory 6"x9"s rear speakers in a 1999 Honda Accord and was wondering what type of speaker would be best?

I'm seeing 2-ohms vs 4-ohms, 2-ways vs 3-ways, amp vs no amp? Will I need a good receiver?

I just want a little extra bass power without having to buy a subwoofer and amplifier. My factory speakers just plain suck.

  1. The ohms is a measurement of resistance.  Too little or too much can actually wreck the timing of your engine in today's cars.  Have a car stereo professional advise you on what you need, or what would suit you best.  An amplifier is good because it gives a little extra push when you need it.

Two way means a bass driver and a second driver that handles the mid-range and highs.

A three-way is a bass driver, a mid range and a separate tweeter or high end driver.
