6-speed bicycle with center gear shifter.?

Question

When I was a kid I had this bicycle that was black, blue and white. It was a 6-speed and it had a center gear shifter. I thought this was the coolest bike in the world. Anybody know what im talking about? Can you find any pics of it on the internet?

I think I may know what you're talking about. I too had a center mount 6-speed. It seemed to me like it was "Puma" or similar named brand and possibly Japanese. When I say center mounted, I mean there was a big gear selector on the top tube, it looked similar to the automatic transmission shifter in a car. It was a handle style shifter with a console piece around it and it a display of what gear it was pointed to. It was a large shifter that you grabbed, not a stem. The bike also had a headlight and aluminum fenders. This was in the late 80's/early 90's I'm not sure how old it was. I too would love more information on what it was.
