Hi, my 6 weeks old girl really hates to be put down during the day, even 2 minutes starts a lot of crying. Using Baby Bjorn most of the time but it does get very tiring. Did anyone have the same problem and when did it get better?

  1. I agree with the Tiny Love mobile recommendation, they're fantastic.  I had the same problem with my then 5 week old daughter who screamed if we put her down to sleep either day or night.  We then bought the mobile and it works a treat.  Can't recommend it highly enough, slightly more expensive than your bog standard mobile but definitely a life saver!  She's now 8 weeks and sleeping through the night - we switch the mobile on in her cot and leave her to it, it gets her to sleep every time. Good luck x

  2. Try putting her on a bouncer or swing. If that doesnt work then, while she is in your lap, then show her some flashing light and sound toy (try a few and you will know what she likes). Once she shows interest in that toy, slowly place her down and sit next to her and continue playing with the toy. Try this a few times and she might get the idea and even when she in not holding on to u, u r still right next to her.

  3. My oldest daughter was like that. Basically i just had to start sitting her down and making her get use to it. She would cry for a little bit but she got use to it.

  4. Lots of babies are like that. Mine sure was. He's 4.5 months old on and getting better at lying by himself for a bit as he can play more alone, sometimes he'll happily lie in his playpen or on his gym for more than 1/2 hour!!

What I found to be life saver when it comes down to this was buying a great mobile. Mine is a Tiny Love with light and music and it plays for 20 mins straight. It fascinated him so much (and still does to an extend) that he didn't even notice he was lying by himself while I was e.g. in the shower, making a sandwich, hanging up the laundry.

    Good luck!

  5. that's very noraml and think almost every baby is like that. trust me treasure this time. once your baby become mobile and walking everywhere they won't even let you hold them. my son freaks when i pick him up msot of the time because he is so busy running aroundd and he was just like yours. he NEVER wanted to be put dodwn andd i woul walk around with him and everything

  6. Babies enjoy bonding with parents. If it's really tiresome, you're going to have to put her down and let her cry it out.  Eventually she'll get tired of crying about something as minute as being put-down. It may take a lot of trial and error, but you'll be thankful. Like the 3rd poster said, treasure the time! Once she gets walking and running, zoom! She's gone! kicking to be put down on the ground so she can run free!
