Question:

6 weeks pregnant and wondering how your belly felt and looked this far along?

My stomach starts off somewhat flat in the morning, but by the evening, it's like a miniature basketball. I guess because I didn't really show noticeably with my first child until I was well into my 5th month, this is somewhat alarming.

  1. At 6 weeks you are not going to really be showing, no matter what # PG you are on - what you might be seeing is bloating - especially if you are good about drinking plenty of fluid.  BUT - if this is your 2nd, or 3rd, or so on - you will show sooner than with your first.  Your body has already stretched like this before.  I am almost 10w with my 2nd and have found myself to be very bloated - making it seem like im showing - but the baby and your uterus is not big enough yet to really show.  At 10 weeks a uterus is the size of an orange - so your about half that size.....

Congrats and best of luck with the new edition to your family!

  2. im 16w and 5 days pregnant, and i am not showing! only if i lay on my back and suck it in... then you can see a little bump!

but since this is your second, you will be showing A LOT sooner!

  3. Don't worry!  I am also 6 weeks along and my stomach is totally starting to bulge!  At 5 weeks I lost my waist line and by 6 weeks my stomach sticks out slightly.  Mine starts out pretty normal looking in the morning but by evening mine looks like a mini basketball too!  My doctor told me that constipation is very common in early pregnancy and she said that can cause bloating and cramping.  I just had my checkup and the baby is ok.  Every woman's body reacts to pregnancy differently and I guess we are just one of those that starts to show very early on - guess that means we will have well-nourished babies!!!  Good luck and don't worry!  You have to relax for the baby's sake (I know...easier said that done!)

  4. I was pretty bloated with this baby in the beginning, so that might be what you're experiencing, too. I was worried when I started to "show" so early, but I think it's just that I was bloated and didn't know it. I can definitely tell a difference now, though. My belly is much harder and getting bigger, it seems, by the day. Best of luck to you

  5. You are bloated. Your digestive system slows down so it can suck as many nutrients out of your food as possible. The result is that you have more waste products sitting in your intestines than you normally would. The excess c**p (pun intended) has to go somewhere.

At 6 weeks, I was ok. By 8, I needed Bella Bands to be comfortable in fixed waist pants.

  6. I was flat until my fourth month. Then my belly became noticeable only when it was seen bare. I started showing only when I reached six months. Don't be alarmed.. This happened to me on my tenth week and there are times when my abdomen would look elevated on the left and flat on the right.. It's the baby's position. Relax. :)

  7. I would say its NOTHING to be alarmed about at six weeks there is really not anything showing or at least there wasn't for me...BUT every time its different you never carry the same way :] But at six weeks I was Just EXHAUSTED all the time....oh and REALLY HUNGRY

    Hope this helps.

    God bless.

  8. 6 weeks? Wow. You should call your doctor and see what they think, just in case. My 1st, I didn't show until I was over 6 months and I got huge. I'm 5 months and just started showing when I was 4 months, just out of the blue. It's odd too...it's mostly my upper stomach by my ribs. My first one was a lot lower. Congrats and good luck!
