I am 6 and weeks pregnant. Got my ultrasound done yesterday and it shows 4 weeks pregnancy. Its my first pregnancy. The ultrasound shows the sac but not fetal pole and no heart beat. My gynac/OB has suggested another scan after 2 weeks.

I am extremely worried and confused. If anyone can suggest anything then it would help me a lot. Thanks

PS: Even if you are not able to give solution please reassure me as more than anything I just want to cry right now.

  2. that is pretty early...not all the time they can detect a heartbeat that early.. just wait til you next ultrasound.. good luck

  3. they usually detect a heart beat about 12 weeks they will check it, my babies heart was only detected at 10 weeks on ultrasound, it stll could be too soon remeber that, give it more time everything should be okay

  4. o sweetie your gonna be fine the baby is fine too just pray and dont let it get to you i wish u the best of luck!

  5. 6 weeks is the earliest that you see anything at all in the scan!! Details and heart beat come later. Stop worrying, if they saw a sac in the uterus that's all you need right now. That;s what tells you the pregnancy is in your uterus and not outside, so things are well, take one step at a time. Besides, you may have had a late ovulation and you may have gotten pregnant later than they suspect. Test your hbcg levels to see that they are rising properly, and stop worrying. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO NOW TO HELP YOUR BABY IS TO RELAX AND BE HAPPY AND NO STRESS. Let us know how everything went, OK? I bet everything will be fine.

  6. i began spotting at 6 weeks with my son--they could see a sac, but no baby or heartbeat at that time. i went back that next week at 7 weeks and there was my son--beating heart and all. 179 bpm. the told me i possibly had a blighted ovum, but he was there. and he just turned 4 yrs old this past june. he is our miracle baby and he starts pre-school on monday, lol! so, have faith and relax. i miscarried a baby last august, and that was so painful on so many levels. but, my dr thinks when i was bleeding wiht my son--this is why they could not see him. said i may have just been dehydrated--so drink plenty of fluids. good luck!

  7. you probably ovulated later that is why you have a 4 week pregnancy.

I had that problem as well ,but at 6 weeks there was a fetal pole and heartbeat .

Did they use a trans vaginal ultrasound or abdominal ultrasound as it makes all the difference at that early stage

  8. i could see a heartbeat at 7 weeks, not before!

dont worry, it will work out fine!

  9. From what I read it is not abnormal at 6 weeks to not see heartbeat or fetal pole.

Is it possible you fell pregnant later than you thought?

I am sorry I am not much help, but I have miscarried twice and remember so well the feeling of uncertainty - I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and STILL worry.

I hope all turns out well for you.

  10. Darling, please don't worry. At this stage it's quite common not to hear a heart beat. Especially if baby's gestational age is unclear.

Just visualise a beautiful, healthy baby with a nice strong heart beat. Focus your energy and attention on doing that and on looking after the both of you.

I wish you all the best.

    Good luck!

  11. do not worry
