60 + 11 and 12 year old kids with very little supervision at P.E.?

Question

ALL year at P.E. my son and students have told me about how their coach stays on his phone the entire hour and does't watch the kids. Kids get injured in there on a daily basis. Not little injuries either. I have talked to the principal on a number of occasions and even went higher but to no avail. I'm afraid that someone is going to be injured really badly. What can I do?

Examples of injuries:

Kid had his face stomped during a fight, glasses broke cutting his face.

Kid had stitches kicked and opened up again.

Many fist fights
