600/barrel oil in 10 years time?

here's my prediction: 300/barrel oil in 5 years time, and 600/barrel oil in 10 years time. Be very, very afraid. If you dont buy a Prius now or the next Prius which gets 100+ mpg, you are gonna cry each time you fill up. After the oil runs out, we are gonna extract hydrogen from water using energy from solar thermal plants.

  1. Not likely.  The price of oil is already at a point where competetive fuels, oil sands, oil shale, oil from coal become economicaly feasible.  This will result in a massive increase in available energy resources and this will stabilize the price for quite some time.

  2. Well, with peak oil upon us, that's a very good possibility.  I wish more people, especially our elected idiots in Washington, understood the danger that peak oil could have on our economy and country.

But instead of a Prius, I really want to get one of those plugin electric cars.  You can plug them into the outlet in your garage to charge, they run on electricity for about 40 miles before the gas engine kicks in.  Since my round trip to work every day is only about 15 miles, I won't have to use any gas at all unless I go somewhere else that's a bit farther!

GM is planning on making a vehicle like this, I hope they get their butts in gear and get it out before I need new wheels!!!

    Check it out:

  3. Not if we allow the regressive policies of the left block further exploration.  Luckily, countries like Brazil realize the world does not run on good intentions - see attached.

  4. First off, **** the Prius. It is a cheaply made, ugly, horrible polluter (look it up) that doesn't even get very good milage.

Second, I hope gas does get to $10/gallon and up. Anyone stupid enough to drive a car that runs on petroleum deserves to pay the price.

I will laugh at them as I drive by in my VW Jetta that runs on cooking oil.
