  1. You would need a high current amplifyer. Those speakers sound like they can pound and need some good power. I think if you don't care to have a surround sound system that you just invest in a stereo amplifyer. This will have two outputs that have good amount of power and if you wanted to add subs they have sub outputs aswell. I don't know what kind of budget you have either? Though if you wanted a large amount of power from a surround sound reciever you will have to spend a lot to get a higher end amp.

This one is a good stereo receiver and Harman Kardon may look like it has lower watts but their slogan is no watt is created equally. My Harman Kardon reciever sends a 45 watt but it can go loud and power my speakers that say they have a 125 rms and 550 power rating. So this reciever sending 120 watts would be friggen loud and able to power those speakers.

If you are wanting to pick an amp I suggest Denon, Harman Kardon, Onkyo and high end amps from pioneer I hear are good.

One questions though, the frequency responce sucks for your speakers? 55 to 30000 Hz? The human ear hears 20 to 20000 Hz so its stupid they go to 30000 hz. Animals that can hear higher frequencies then us, will be freakin out. Though 55 hz isn't enough for bass or lower end frequencies in my opinion. My speakers hit as low as 36 Hz and I think they still need some more bass from a sub. What kind of speakers are these?

In the end I personally like Harman Kardon, and they just look very appealing. Though Denon and Onkyo have models with more bells and whistles that are also good deal for their prices.

  2. Harmon Kardon has higher current amp sections than most Denon or Onkyo products. You don't say what your budget is, but if you really want those speakers sing out, try receivers or integrated amps from Adcom, Parasound or Bryston. Serious quality gear with very serious power. They will run a lot more $$$ than HK. I have heard the HK receivers and their power and ease with which they drive speakers are a lot better than my Denon. If you don't have 4 or 5 figures to spend, then its hard to beat HK

  3. There is a 400 watt per channel amp that won "Best Power Amplifier" in a recent magazine. Do an internet search for Sunfire Theater Grand TGA-7400.

While it wont reach the 600 watts those speakers call for, it should produce sound.
