My grandparents will be celebrating their 60th anniversary soon. The immediate family will be getting together for the weekend to celebrate in Atlanta. We want to make the weekend special and are looking for interesting, creative, or unique ways to honor this special event. We are not millionaires, so please give us ideas that don't involve exorbitant amounts of money! Thanks!

  1. Have a party reminisent (?) of when & where they first met.  If they met at the car hop then serve burgers, fries & shakes and have the grandkids serve them up on skates.  If they went to the movies then have a movie theme w/ popcorn, candies & b&W movies.

  2. this may seem a bit corny but it is very sweet.

    center everything around 60.

make a collage of 60 pictures of them.

have sixty candles (it's doable, i swear)

or have a theme of something they love.

    (beaches, a certain food, anything)

if you're christian have them renew their wedding vows.

    have tasty homemade food (potluck)

    of all their favorites meals.

    have fun!

hope this helps, some ideas are really random.

  3. Have people try to dress up like their favorite movie actors at that time.  And make it like a travel back in time of when they were younger.  Maybe have someone who would mind dressing up like Marilyn Monroe or Elvis, Buddy Hollly etc.  I did that for a friend of mine who was moving to Vegas We all dress up like Vegas showgirls and it was a blast!.
