A couple questions about camp. 1st things first, how was your experience their? Was it fun? What kind of activities did you do? 2nd thing any good pranks that REALLY won't get me in trouble? I like the TRUCK idea from the other questions... but how about for one of the next nights? 3rd Why can't we (1. go in opposite s*x's cabins? 2. Bring more than 1 bag? 3. Not bring tech stuff? Like digital camera, MP3, cellphone?) 4. Of course I'm asking this, is it fun, because I have heard it was cool but their was a lot of learning! And last 5. What did you (or can I do?) to fall asleep at night. Like if I'm not tired and everybody else is asleep? What could I do then? And I'm adding to 5. What do you do at night? Do the councelors come by your door and knock to make sure you know what to do if strangers knock on your door? Can you talk? Do you have to have all the lights off?

PLEASE answer this question. I really need to know. Nobody answers my questions but this is important. Thanks a lot=]

but if you get caught you cant "parrticipate in camp activities"

    for the next day.

but trust me its so worth it(((:

and you usually dont get caught .

well they dont wwant you going into boys cabins because they dont want relationships to form at camp.

    its SUPER gayyy.

but you cant bring cell phones because they want to give you "an amazing outdoor experience". but i brought my cell phone and i texted late at nighttt;]

you just have to be very sneaky! haha. well i woke my friends up when i couldnt sleep and we told scary stories =0

well i hope this helps youuu:)

  2. 1st I'd like to tell you that I'm just going into 7th grade so I clearly remember camp...

My experience was great, most kids say they hated it but I had TONS&TONS of fun.

I don't kno any great pranks (sorry).&Idk about the opposite s*x cabins thing, I guess they just don't want anyone prego. And there's a lot of luggage that needs to be carried so they try to limit it. And this is a learning sorta thing, they don't want you distracted by MP3s and all that ****. And guess what. I don't have a MP3, Ipod, DigCam, VideoCam,Xbox, Nintendo, (All those oth. vidgames) NOTHING. Just a phone. Live with it babe. When I went, I did row-boating, archery, bridge building, camp fires, boat races, tons of stuff;yeah it was learning, but it was FUN learning.

And falling asleep you can't do much about. Normally councelers stay in your cabin with you, but maybee not at yer camp. Lights out is normally 10pm-and ALL the lights are out.

  3. Its not fun. Honestly.

  4. it SEEMS important.  Camp for me was spoiled by a priest (name upon request) I'm not trying to be funny

  5. I am mom to 4 kids.  I've been a counselor/parent helper 3 times and will be one again, for the last time, in Oct. when our youngest goes to 6th grade camp.  So, I'll answer from a parent's view point.  I thought it was a very fun time the 3 times I went.  The experience is an educational one, designed to enhance your learning in a more informal, hands-on atmosphere.  So, yes, the purpose is lots of learning - it's not vacation time.  At our camp there is an obstacle ropes course, archery, fishing, boating/canoeing, arts & crafts, nature trails, and basketball courts and volley ball nets.  The days are filled with a variety of classes with only a small amount of actual "free" time.  I'd skip the pranks unless they meet these 3 criteria 1) no school rules or camp rules are broken, 2) no one gets hurt physically nor is the prank designed to pick on one particular person or group 3) if a mess is made you can easily clean it up.  Sure, you are kids, but it is a time to act a bit mature.  Except for some mild jumping out of the bushes and scaring people on the way to the bathroom in the dark or wrapping a cabin in toilet paper in the night, most pranks are met with little patience and tolerance.  You can not go into the cabins of the other s*x because this is their private space.  You may not mind if someone of the opposite s*x comes in, but if one of your cabin mate's needs to change clothes or needs to lie down because they don't feel well, they'll need the privacy.  At our 6th grade camp, no student is in the cabin without a counselor, ever.  The only time you are in your cabin is at night and during free time after lunch.  There is a "common" room in the main lodge to hang out with your friends of the opposite s*x.  You can bring only 1 bag because you have to carry everything you bring.  If you bring only 1 bag that will make you think about what you really need and what isn't necessary.  Tech stuff is easily lost or stolen so it needs to stay safe at home.  At night, you'll be tired.  You'll have spent the entire day outside being very active so you'll want to go to sleep.  It can be hard to fall asleep in a strange place and you might not sleep well, but there will be a strict light's out and quiet time.  At our 6th grade camp, counselors sleep in the cabins with the students.  No one does anything after light's out, you can't leave the cabin unless you have to go to the bathroom and a counselor will go with you.  You'll have to probably bring your own bedding so bring your own pillow and be sure you have a sheet in case it is hot and a blanket in case it is cold in addition to your sleeping bag.  I think you'll have a good time at camp.
