  1. I don't know the norms but I grew about 8 inches in 1 year when I was 14. If you're concerned about it, you should ask her pediatrician.

  2. it is normal she is just going threw puberty. Most kids hit it around 8.

  3. My 7.5 year old son seems to have grown that much this year, but I haven't actually measured him.  I'm surprised everyone thinks your 7.5 year old is going through puberty.

EDIT:  I had to take my son to the doctor's today.  He has grown 2 inches since he was last measured on February 7th.

  4. Its definitely normal.When I was in 4th grade I was 5"7 feet tall!

Now my daugther, 13 yrs. old,is the 5th to the last tallest girl.

  5. Sure is.  She had a growth spurt.  My daughter had one this summer.

  6. Yes, It is very normal. But truthfully I think she is starting puberty. When you start, you sprout out and grow faster. I grew 3 inches in 3months. I am fine, so I think she is going to be OK. Hope everything works out fine!!!!

  7. yes and no. girls hit puberty earlier than boys. she could just be and early bloomer. and if they grow that much in that little time. that could be her last growing time.

  8. Yes, honestly she is probably starting puberty, I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but kids are starting earlier and earlier these days.
