maybe i wasn't accurate enough in my last question but what i meant that i was timed by my teacher for a push off 15 m freestyle ( that was the pool length, unfortunately), and i am a 19 years old , a male of course, and to be true that was my second timed freestyle, and i just couldn't figure out whether it was good or not ...my teacher was simply smiling and told me to not think about my time quality....so plz whether you can tell me the record in "Lebanon" and worldwide .... i would appreciate it a lot...btw i've practicing for only 2 months...and last time i've beated my own teacher...LOL... thanks a lot....

  1. My answer won't be official but you can take this as reference. I swim 50 yards in a 25yd pool (one lap) in 26 seconds. That's equal to 45.72 meters - using conversion I swim 15 meters in 7.87 seconds with one flipturn.

On my school swim team, I'm not brilliant at all. Calculating our best varsity high school swimmers, they could swim the 15 meters in about 5.91 seconds. They swim 50 yds in 20 seconds with one flip turn.

Worldwide, 50meter freestyle record is 21.28 seconds for one lap. If a flip takes 2 seconds - then the world record swimmer could swim 15 meters in 5.7 seconds.

7.51-5.7 = 1.81 seconds - that's alot if you know about competitive swimming. That becomes over 7-8 seconds later than the record for a full 50 meters. Even 9-11 seconds slower because they'll accelerate towards the end. BUT, we dive in, not push off. I didnt calculate that into the equation because I dont know the time difference.

So my personal conclusion is that you're an average swimmer around my caliber. (When I say average, I mean among people who swim for sport, not leisure). Good enough to say you swim decent, but not elite enough to race at high levels. I'm 18 yrs old.
