7. What are the arguments about 100% graphite blanks versus graphite-fiberglass blanks?

  1. Graphite blanks make for some really nice fishing rods with great action, but they're not as durable as the fiberglass wrapped graphite ones.  If you're as rough on your rods as me you should stick to the fiberglass ones

  2. Graphite is lighter and more responsive than fiberglass. If you are using fly rod graphite is much more powerful creating faster casting rods. If you are river drift fishing a drift rod will have much more sensitivity than a fiberglass rod.

    On the other hand, if a graphite surface is marred (scratched or nicked) the rod will become weak and break.
