  1. Definitive answer

in each bag we have 7cats plus 49 kittens ie 56 cats. therefore total cats are:-

    7girls x 7bags x 56cats ie 2744 cats

    therefore total legs are 2744 x 4 (cats) plus 7 x 2 (girls)

    ie 10976 plus 14

    10990 tada

  2. Oh dear, so many different answers! Please take it simple, too high figures can mean that you get confused. Do it so you don't need a calculator.

There are seven 4-legged catfamilies of 8 cats in each bag = 8x4=32 legs per family.

    7 familys per bag gets 32x7= 224

The carrier has 2 legs which makes 224+2=226 legs per bag/carrier.

    7 bags/carriers means 7x226 = 1582 legs.

nm518 has the same result as me..

It is just too many cats, not a real world problem.

  3. girls legs:  girls*2legs each = 14 girls' legs

    cat legs: 7bag*7catseachbag=49cats*4legseach=196 cat legs

kitten legs: like shown before: 49cats*7kittens each=343kittens*4legs each=1372 kitten legs

    grand total= 14+196+1372= 1582 legs

  4. The last two times I saw this, each girl had 7 bags, making 49 bags.   Did you copy it correctly?

  5. 1386  (7 girls = 14 legs; 7 bags, 7 cats per, 7 kittens per = 7^3 = 343 cats/kittens; 343*4=1372 legs; 1372+14=1386)

  6. 7 girls have 2 legs = 14

    7 cats have 4 legs = 28

    49 Kittens have 4 legs = 196

    238 legs?

  7. Dunno, are any of them amputees?

  8. 9611

  9. 14 showing the rest are covered and 7 are bags.

  10. 1372legs

  11. 7 girls= 14 legs

    +49 legs in bags

    2401=14

    2415

  12. 10990 legs

  13. 14, just cos the girls have the bags doesn't mean they are there.

  14. Think I've got it figured:

    7 girls:

    7 x 2 = 14 human legs.

7 cats with 7 kittens each in 7 bags:

    7 cats x 7 kittens= 49 kittens

7 cats + 49 kittens per bag = 56 total cats per bag

    56 cats x 7 bags = 392 cats total

    343 x 4 legs = 1568 cat legs

    1568 cat legs + 14 human legs  = 1582 legs total

This is assuming that each of the 7 girls has 1 of the 7 bags (for a total of 7 bags altogether, not 7 bags per girl).

  15. The answer is 2758.

  16. Ok so not using "real world logic" and ignoring the "what ifs"... i.e. purely from a mathematical point of view:

    GIRLS:

    7 girls, 2 legs each = 7 x 2 = 14 girl legs

    CATS:

    7 cats/bag, 7 bags = 7 x 7 = 49 cats x 4 legs/cat = 196 cat legs

    KITTENS:

    49 cats, 7 kittens/cat = 7 x 49 = 343 kittens x 4 legs/kitten = 1372 kitten legs

GIRL LEGS + TOTAL CAT LEGS = 1582 total legs.

  17. None of them are here.Where is there?

  18. 14 visible legs.

Aren't the rest of them in a bag?

....Oh and I know these are Math Q's, but linguistically it suggests 7 girls have 7 bags (between them) and each bag has 7 cats within. The question does not stipulate whether the kittens are present, so I'd go with 7 bags x (7 cats x 4 legs each) + (7 girls x 2 legs each) = 210 legs.
