7 hour pool party, on period!! HELP ME!!!!?

My parents want to go to this pool party but I just started my period yesterday and the party is on Sunday so I know i'm definately not going to be finished by then. I'll probably have a medium/lightish flow by then. I've used tampons before for pool parties but I never had to change them before because the parties were only a few hours long. This one is going to be like an all day thing and it's far from our house. How am I going to be able to go in and use the bathroom without people knowing i'm on it?? If I take a purse thing in it will be really obvious. And on top of that i'm not very comfortable at all with tampons in. I'm okay when I'm in the water, but when I get out I'm always afraid the tampon is going to slip out, or the string is out, or i'm leaking etc. Then when I sit down it's really uncomfortable too because the string or something is pulling the wrong direction or something. I don't know what to do. Any advice or helpful hints?? Thanks!!! =]

Yeah tampons are small enough to stick in your clevage no matter how much or how little you have. :)

Other than that, I don't personally care if people know I am on it if I am carrying a purse. The only other suggestion would be to not go swimming. I don't know how obvious that would be to other people if you just sat around all day tho

Well, you already know you should use a tampon. If you're comfortable with it, just have your mom put about 3 or 4 in HER purse, and when you need to change it just ask her for one and go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can to for the paranoia, just hope for the best, if there's something wrong, go to the bathroom and fix it. Or, just tell your parents your cramps are horrible and you really can't go.

Don't be so shy about it, you probably won't be the only girl there on her period..if you still want to hide it, bring a bag for your towel and sunscreen and stuff, put the tampons in it, and when you go to the bathroom, wrap up in your towel and hide it...this might sound a little gross but if you want the string not to fall out, wedge it between your butt cheeks

ok if anyone is looking that close and would see it they should be arrested and it makes them the freak not you. All women have periods and maybe you could take a small purse with sunscreen and chapstick or gloss and just reapply it occastionally so when you have to go into the bathroom you can play it off as reapplying the cosmetics..but seriously...get over it...you are not alone and it's so normal...btw the tampon will not slip out...but if you have problems with that make sure you aren't using tampax brand..I've noticed they are longer and tend to slip a bit..try playtex or OB if your comfortable enough to insert it yourself...they are the smallest most comfortable ones out there imho

well swim for the first few hours, have one in the swim bag w/your regular clothes in it and then go change into those clothes about 5-6 hours into the party.  and just say you didnt feel like swimming any more.  

and dont worry about leaking in the pool, in my experience even if you do, the cholorine bleaches it.

Well ok I think I have a plan!

Ok, don't tell your mum you're on your period- then she can't tell anyone.

Then- leave a bag inside like you said just in case but I'm thinking- you go swimming at the start for however long you're comfortable with not having to change a tampon.

Then-before you leave make sure you have a pad/tampon in the pocket of the jeans you're wearing.

Then after a couple of hours or however long you've planned to swim, get out and get dressed. No-one knows you're on your period (even if your mum does tell her not to tell anyone) and no-one will ask cos' you've already been in the pool! Then you can wear a pad and be dressed so no-one will push you in the pool or anything and then you'll be doing the cooking biz for a few hours so you won't be swimming then anyway.

uh just take your purse and say your putting on lip gloss or something...

or grabb you tapon and stick it down your bathing suit till you get to the bathroom so no one notices

Try using super or super-plus tampons. It absorbs more. If it leaks onto your swimsuit, try wrapping a towel or sweatshirt around you.

first of all, can anybody have a 7-hour party?

second, it will not be obvious if you take your purse, just stick it inside the house if you can and just grab it on your way, if you make a big deal, people will notice.

your mom will tell you if some thing's about to leak or pop out (she's been through this) and that won't happen. and tampons are up in a whole, they're not going to randomly pop out of your lady area!

You shouldnt feel any discomfort sitting, unless you dont shove it up far enouh or leave the applicator on.
