Question:

7 month old boer buck not breeding does?

I have a 7 month old (maybe older) boer buck who is now in the pasture with our does. He is showing no interest in them at all, even though I know he is old enough to breed. I have no idea what is wrong with him. Any other buck would at least try to breed the females- even if he wasn't mature enough to reproduce. He doesn't seem to be sick. Someone jokingly told me that he could be sterile- is that true? He is fully intact but doesn't seem to think he is. He doesn't have a strong "buck" smell either. Are they supposed to stink year round or just in the breeding season? I know a few of my does have gone in heat already and he still has no interest in trying to breed them. I am beginning to think that I will not be able to use him for breeding. Anyone have this problem in their herd before?
