HI, my question isnt so much about development, bc my son is on target/ahead w/somethings. My question is this; The first few months of my sons life I ddint play with him so much. I feel I more just had to take care of him, like hold him, diaper and feed. I didnt really read to him much either. Now, I do these things non-stop. Is that going to hurt his development. I hear all these stories of people who did this from the very begining, and I did a little bit, but I am jsut worried, that bc I didnt do it taht much at first, that ive done something wrong. Please dont be judgemental...and he is my first child....

  1. that's how i feel with my son. he's my first too. I wouldn't be worried if he's on track. any playing and touching, speaking or singing to is going to helpful. most babies at seven months just want to eat the book anyways. don't worry. your doing just fine.

  2. to be honest, those first few months.. all your baby really needs is to be nurished. to have exactly what you did done to him. love him, hold him feed him... ( mom stuff) now that he's an older baby he does need more of the interaction, playing reading, rolling around on the floor with him :)

    Youre doing fine!

  3. Please please please don't beat yourself up over this!!!

I hate it when people get all judgemental about what he do or don't do with our kids when they are first born. I was so exhausted for the first few weeks, I did nothing appart from feed her and pray that she would sleep soon!!!

Just enjoy reading to him now and playing with him and he will grow up to be a well adjusted little boy!
