He has had these pimple-like bumps for a few weeks now. He is a thumb sucker and I was thinking it was from when he sucks his thumb his other fingers kind of rest under his eyes and on his nose. My theory is that maybe his hands sweat and cause the bumps. I don't know for sure, but was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm thinking he's too old for baby acne because I've read that usually occurs shortly after birth due to the mother's hormones still being present in the baby. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.

  1. my baby did this too, and i thought she was too late for it too, pediatrition didnt seem concerned about it , and eventually it went away by itself.  they said it had to do with my hormones leveling out after pregnancy.

  2. Not positive but I know when I was about 8 years old I got hives. Later found out it was because I was allergic to Naproxin Sodium (found in Aleve). I got hives on my forhead and on my legs. Itched/hurt like crazy. If he doesn't seem irritated by it then that probably isn't it, but think if you have given him any kind of medication when it started. Mine lasted about 2 weeks.

Just make sure you can rule that out first so your not continuing to give him something he may be allergic to.

Also think if he has been in the sun alot lately or not. Just a few things like that.

  3. I would think it was baby acne, but why don't you take him to the Dr just in case. It doesn't hurt to ask. I do believe that you can even take him to a pharmacist at any pharmacy and they might also be able to tell you what it is and what to buy over the counter to fix it.
