7-month-old not sitting up yet?

Question

He CAN sit up but doesn't want to. He is, however, scooting all over the house trying to keep up with his older brother so I don't think it's a development issue - he's just in a hurry to get up and go! Anyone out there have this similar experience with siblings that were so close together? I've spoken to his pedi and just said. "we'll see."

jordan and drake aren't close together and both of them were very advanced!   so i dont know lol

awww, well my son is 8 months, and crawling! my son is a big baby at that! he doesn't have and siblings, but, i've got two younger brothers that he's always trying to catch up to. at first, my son didn't want to do anything, due to the fact that he is a big baby, but time came along and he just wanted to get up and go. i''d say every baby developes at his or hers own pace! i was scared at first too for my son, now, he's just all over the place!

All babies develop at different ages and I dont think hes behind quite yet.  My son is 8 months old, he's been crawling for a few weeks now and he can even stand on his own for a couple minutes before his knees buckle,  but doesnt really prefer to sit on his own.  He can and will for a few seconds but prefers to be on his hands and knees and ceawling all around the house.  If hes scooting all around the house then he has the muscles to do it and maybe just wants to be active and play instead of sit!

My daughter didn't sit until she was 7 months old even though she had already began to crawl and pull herself up to standing.  Different kids develop at different rates.  I wouldn't be worried about his development at this point.  

Has he ever seen another baby sit up before?  That is what got my daughter to finally sit.  She watched a little 6 month old do it, and she did it the next day.

My son still hasn't actually done a complete sit up to sit. He gets on all fours and then sits himself up. He is 11 months. He did the military crawl till he was about 8 months almost 9 then finally got on all fours and crawls. He shows no interest in walking yet either. I wouldn't worry about it hun... He will get it with time.
