7 month old will only eat finger foods?

Question

He refuses to open his mouth when I try to feed him anything pureed or rice cereal. He wants to play with it but will not eat it. If I give him little pieces of avocado or banana etc. he eats it up but I am afraid he is not getting enough to eat because he won't eat anything else. Any suggestions?

mines that age and yesterday we actually shared a bowl of yogurt,maybe he'll want some some if he see's you eat with him

my daughter who is ten months now went through a similar thing around seven months. i felt like she wanted her own Independence of feeding herself. at this age they can eat a varied diet i introduced alot more finger foods that she could feed herself with. small pieces of soft potato, flaked up fish and veg is an example of a dinner. it should pass it did with my daughter.
