  1. For each of my three children I did not get a period (after the postpartum bleed) for over 12 months.  It is perfectly normal, but if you have concerns just have a chat with your doctor. Some women start as per normal a month or six weeks later, others not for nearly 2 years.

It may be possible for you to get pregnant because you do not know when you will ovulate next, leading to your next period.  Usually breastfeeding is a fairly effective contraception only if you are exclusively feeding for up to 6 months (not always).

You could look for natural signs of ovulation such as cervical mucous to give you an indication.

  2. Please dont listen to fools who tell you that you should see your doctor!!!! It is very normal to not have a period while you are breastfeeding. Some women dont have a period for over 12 months. There is a slight chance you can get pregnant, thats why the mini pill is usually offered to take away that slight chance while you are breastfeeding. If you are worried talk to your doctor about the mini pill. Sorry to answer because I havnt been pregnant while breastfeeding but I didnt want you to think there was something wrong with you because you havnt had a period.

  3. i need a nice girl cause iam nice boy .iam 16years   how old you?

    pleas lets talk

  4. The egg is released before your period starts so yes you can get pregnant.

  5. yes its true that breastfeeding can stop you getting pregnant but if you reduce the amount you breastfeed then this can reduce the hormones makeing it possible to get pregnant. My advice to you is not to rely on breastfeeding as a contraceptive even if you aren't having periods. Its all to do with hormones that you are producing when breastfeeding.

  6. Ok, it hasn't happened to me, but you could get pregnant without having a period, as you would have ovulated approx 2 weeks *before* you got the first period back. It IS completely normal to not get your period for many months if you are breastfeeding. Just like everything else, we are all different - some women start quite soon, regardless of breastfeeding, some find that when their baby starts sleeping through & they're feeding less it comes back, for some women their period doesn't return until after they have stopped breastfeeding completely. I would definitely not be concerned about not having started yet - just enjoy it while you can! :D

  7. you can still get pregnant because you still have eggs in your ovaries that can get fertilized. regardless of whether or not they are flushing out of your body (i.e. your period).

on a more serious note, does your gyn know about you missing periods for this length of time? it's not uncommon for women to miss periods while breastfeeding, but 7 months, and nothing is a bit long. there could be something more going on that you may want looked at.
