  1. its normal. they are so used to being all snuggled up and tight when you were pregnant. only time will get him use to this. its almost like seperation anxiety for them lol

my son did the same. i thought it was cute! so your okay..no worries. :)

  2. This is a startle reflex (or moro reflex) and is totally normal.  He may have a little gas pain or a cold chill.  No big deal.  You can read more about the reflexes that babies are born with by reading here.  It is super interesting!

    Good Luck!

  3. My son did this too. He would also laugh in his sleep. I was sitting at my computer one day and he was in his travel crib next to me and I heard him so I looked and he was sound asleep.

  4. It's just the nervous system developing. It's very normal. If he likes to be swaddled that may help, it will keep him comforted.

  5. It's called the startling relflex.  Most newborns do this.  It usually subsides by 3-4 months.  It's normal.

Yes, I believe babies do dream.  That's why they smile and get scared sometimes.  It's all perfectly normal.

Just keep him swaddled to minimize him scaring himself by startling himself.

  6. At seven weeks he can still be swaddled and probably would like to be if he is having the startle reflex reaction to things. Wrap him up and he'll be fine.

I use to love to see my girl smile in her sleep!

  7. This is normal.  Maybe he's dreaming, or it's just those sleep reflexes we all sometimes get.

  8. Its completely normal. Something to do with their nervous system development. My kids did the same thing.
