Had a floor model room fan that had 3 speeds. It just quit working. I took it apart & saw that under the touch control panel, there was a blown fuse on the board. I replaced it but still wouldn't work.

My wife really really likes this fan - we sleep with it on at night. Is there any way I can replace the touch logic control with a dial model? If so, what wires go to what connections on the dial? The original touch logic control use the same push button (touched on the pc board) to set the speed - push it once = hi speed, push it again = med speed, again = low speed, & again = off.

  1. 7 wires!  Why?  The most I've heard of is four - black (fan), red (light), white (neutral), green/bare (ground).  What other colors do you have?

  2. You could just use it by connecting the white of the fan to a white of a 2 conductor cord. Then use a wire nut and the black from cord to either (1 at a time) the fan black, red, then yellow or blue. If you find a speed that you like just tie it together and plug and unplug the fan to turn on and off.

Be sure not to let any wires touch the fan body (if metal) or any white wires. When changing each wire be sure the test cord is unplugged!

You said 7 wires? Does it have a capacitor?
