Hey! Why dont you take him for a long weekend somewhere, maybe the Lakes or York or something. If you go on teletext you can pick weekend breaks in the uk and you can pick up some really good deals. I took my fiancee away to Wales and it was a gorgeous hotel that didnt cost that much!

Hum. If nothing else, a nice quiet day of rest and relaxation with a good meal and little pressies that he can keep and remember. DVDs music, something for his car or a special tool he might use round the place.

The main thing he would probably say is he's had 7 brilliant years with you with a lifetime to come. Now that's the real spot on gift of a lifetime.
