7 yr old cat is throwing up and losing hair.. what to do!

he's not an affectionate cat, but the last two weeks he has been acting friendlier... and there was a two week span that he didn't eat much food. today he started throwing up and has been hiding under the beds.. please let me know if there is anything that I can do at home to help, or if it's just best to go to the vet. thanks.

The cat needs to see a Vet.  It could have eaten something poison or have an illness like feline leukemia.  People here can only guess but it sounds serious considering the few symptoms you described.  Definitely, it is BEST to go to the Vet!

GO TO THE VET! When my Honee was ill, and eventually died, the vet explained to me that cats are tough and do not show that they are ill for survival purposes. by the time the cat LOOKS sick it is VERY sick.
