70+ races, no win. Was Jr better off...?

Hendrick, DEI, Gibbs or even Childress. He chose Hendrick. He came there for one reason and that was to win, well where's that win? Little E nation it's time to say it loud and clear, he's done. He'll be lucky if he wins another race let alone a championship. He's getting older, he's losing his skill, and he's not finishing the dirt. If i watch Jr. footage of '04 (when he won 6 races) to Now (73 winless streak), you can see how much more different his driving is. So heres the question(s), was he better off going to Hendricks? Should he have gone to another team? Has the COT affected him at his favorite tracks?

Hey haven't you heard the big thing is were you finish at the end. If he never won a race this whole season but keeps finsihing in the top 5 he could easily win the championship which by my standards is the big picture

Okay lets look at the facts.  Jr. has consistently finished in the top 5 and he is #3 in points.  He is far from over.  He has led more laps this year than in years past.  Yes the victory has eluded him but he will be in Victory Lane make no mistake about that.

I don't know what the answer is, I do know at darlington he couldn't keep it off turn 4 wall, by the end of the race he had no number or graphics of any kind on the right side. (How do I know? I was there) Of course Jr nation will say that is to be expected at darlington. They will say other teams have an advantage even though HMS helped develop the COT. Kyle is one of the best wheel men out there, even if you hate him you can't deny that, but you will because you hate so strongly. I will say HMS has their hands full with those 3 egos on board.

I don't think you'd have to the throw in the towel on his career just yet. As noted on NASCAR Victory Lane this past Sunday at this point last season Dale was 12th in points this year he's 3rd.

Last year he wasn't much of a credible chance for a win, this year he has been, with the closest coming at Richmond until that infamous spin out by Kyle Busch happened.

Plus, I don't think being the son of a 7-time Champion, as well as the 5-time MPD (Most Popular Driver) award winner eliminates the old growning pains issue as relates to a driver switching teams. The fact that he is 3rd in points, contending for wins, is good. Really its just a matter of all the elements coming together for him to win. I am sure by at least the beginning of the Chase, he would have won at least 1 race.

All the changes have kept the sport competitive...that's why Edwards started off good and busch is leading...another reason that busch is winning is because NASCAR gives Toyota an advantage because they are new to the sport. Earnhardt is consistant and will will get that win along with the championship. I was at the race at Darlington and he had a strong car but noone would work with him and I got pissed at the beginning when Joe Nemachek was a lap car and blocking Jr...

I think Junior is better off at Hendrick.  Junior will win, it is just a matter of time.  There are at least 20 other guys out there who are in contention to win every week also so it's not like its easy.  If it were easy we would all be doing it.  Junior is in a better position this year than he was last year and he seems more focused now that the family drama is out of the way.  He has shown he has the stuff now and he is going to be just fine.

He is still running better than he was at TEI, remember he is 3rd in points. The COT has nothing to do with it, he is running really well in it.  So I would recommend before you run your mouth, you kinda rethink the question. No he is not done, and stop being like all the other people on here asking the same question day after day hour after hour. If everybody hates Jr so much, why do you keep asking about him. Sounds like there is a fetish going on. Yeah he is in a slump, every team, player goes through it. It is Jr's time. You people give Jr grief, what about Elliot Saddler? How long since his last win, I like the guy, but look at his stats. And Kasey Kahne. Another one. He spent more time running from the All State girls then racing, Again I like Kasey, but look at his stats.I could go on. So he is 3rd in points.  Yes he has run consistantly all season but after all this hype of him going to HMS & his fans acting like he is going to win, well he hasn't yet & I know it's been only 11 races but the way the Jr Nation acted after hearing how Jr was going to HMS & they acted like he would win right away & now that he still hasn't won, I still keep hearing he's going to win this race & when he doesn't, he will win the next race & so on & so on.

This question makes no sense at all.  You have to remember where he came from.  DEI.  He's been at Hendricks less than 10 races and you've given up?  The two year winless streak is from Teresa.  Give him time...wins will come.  Also you said he won't have a Championship???  Ummm he's 3rd in the points.  He's gonna be fine.  However if you are to leave Jr Nation please leave all your stuff at the door, I hear Kyle Busch is looking for fans.

His winless streak at HMS is only 11 races.  He won the Bud Shootout and should have at least one, if not 2 wins for points paying races.  He came in 2nd to an illegal car at Vegas and would probably have won at Richmond if not for Denny's intentional caution that allowed his teammate to get directly behind Jr, only to put him into the wall.  Are all the drivers "done" that have not won a race yet?  Is sitting solidly in 3rd "done" already this year?  You guys are hysterical.  Jr went to Hendrick Motorsports for championships, not to win A race.  He still has a great chance to make that happen and there is no other team that would have given him a better chance to accomplish that.  The COT has had an effect on ALL the drivers and teams, not just Jr.

So are you saying Jeff Gordon is done too? Dale JR is the most consistant driver on Hendrick right now. As far as the Cot goes it has leveled the field, it has made racing more competitive. I don't think he's having a problem with it.

Jr will win just a matter of time just as DW says you have to be both lucky and good ,Jr has been the best car out of HMS this season so far most races always running in top 5-10

just missed some set ups in a few races and with Denny pulling over in that one race pretty much cost Jr the race he was pulling away at that point when Denny pulled over with the flat tire.

Um...Dale Jr. is in the top 5 in points, and has been for the majority of the year.  He's up front at almost every race.  When was the last time he was in the top 5 in a DEI owned car, and how many engines did that car blow last season?
