72 -> 88cc big bore kit - is it worth it?

I'm considering dratv.com's 88cc upgrade for my 72cc bike. However this doesn't seem like all that many more cc's. Not having experience riding a lot of different bikes, I'm wondering, just how much more go will I get out 88cc versus the stock 72cc. For $100, is it worth it or should I hold out for a bigger engine?

  1. I would buy a bigger bike, this one it lite and will get blown around, but if your only on single lane roads, it would get you more POWER but not always speed. See the engine will still only go so many RPM, now if they also change the sprocket size, then youll get speed also.

  2. For a $100 I would do it but you also need to speak to someone about adjusting your front and rear sprockets and that should give you more top end but you may loose some of the bottom end power. I did a 75cc big bore kit on my Aprila Rs50 and it topped out around 65 mph with stock gearing. If you plan on keeping up with haighway traffic you need atleast a 125cc bike and if not you will be running very high revs which will shorten the life of your 88cc motor.
