720p, 1080i and 1080p???

ok on the ps3 games some of them say 720p, 1080i or 1080p supported output. is there a big difference between all of them?? i get 720p for my ps3 games. and how do they make these games like that? like is there 3 different games on one disc like one is in 720p and one in 1080i and 1080p?? thanks

  1. No, it means you can change the output.

    If it says 1080p you can output in 1080p max.

    it's just one game but different output modes, or levels.

    Like windows, one operating system but different resolutions you can use.


  2. its just resolution. theres not much difference between 720p and 1080i. but 1080p is the new high standard. its much clearer with alot more detail. but you do sort of have to looke for it. for the games they don't make three games, it just leaves out some pixels when is displaying. unless you know what you are looking for most people can't tell the differnce between the three resolutions

  3. If you have a tv smaller than 40", then the 720p would work just nicely.  If you have something larger than a 42", then the 1080 would reflect the best picture.

    Try a 720p on a 52 inch - you're going to get a horrible quality picture.
