My friend said that if you buy a 720p TV, you can set it to have the picture and quality of a 1080i TV. Is this true? So techniclly a 720p TV is really a 1080i TV?

  1. Standard HD signal looks the same except if you have HD signals that is true HD then it is sharper picture.

  2. Yep

  3. well you friend isnt right BUT there is no really big difference between the two anyway. at cnet.com they looked a two big (50+ inches) tv that were 720p and 1080p and they could hardly tell the difference. and keep in mind thats 1080p which is better then 1080i. so unless you have a very big tv it wont really matter.
