720p is a higher resolution.  Many HDTVs with 720p are also 1080i TVs.  For full HD resolution, the best is 1080P.

To answer your question 100%. It haves to be 1080i. with a home theater 5.1 surround sound hook up to it.

720p is higher res. 1080i is interlaced that means you only seeing half of the screen at a time so the res is not as good. get 1080p

720p is better for faster moving images. For gaming you should use 720p.

1080i is better for movies.
