  1. As most answers above state unless you have a specific ATC instruction to maintain a vertical speed ( I can't think of a reason why they would) who cares. It's all about airspeed. Controllers are all about how fast that little blip moves off of their radar screen.

You are most interested in getting to where you are going as fast and economically as you can so you fly the fastest speed or what ATC assigns and the vertical speed will work out to what ever it is depending on weight temp etc.

  2. Like asking how long is a rope. Depends on many variables.

  3. You don't calculate it.  It just happens.  You put your engines into climb power and climb at whatever airspeed you like, and take the climb rate that you get.  It will change with altitude and when you transition to mach speed.  Perhaps if you tell us why you want to know, the question will be easier to answer.

  4. You are the one with the simulator.  Simulate a B737 climb at 250 kts to 10,000' MSL, and at the enroute climb speed above that.  Look at what the climb rates were.

ATC does sometimes stipulate a minimum climb rate.

  5. you would most likely want to use you artifical horizon for this. You would want around 17-22 degrees attitude.
