747 jumbo plane view?

what is the nearest airport from birmingham city where i can view the 747 plane .i thought it would be east mids but i dont think they come there.

most of the London airports or Manchester will be your best options ... depends which one is quicker for you to get too

Perhaps stansted, definatly heathrow. Mancester aswell. (Not liverpool though [John Lennon Airport])

Maybe Liverpool......... but dont quote me on that !

I work at the bottom of the runway at heathrow - literally meters from it and they go over my head just before landing.

I hardly ever even look up anymore since concorde stopped flying. !!!

It would be Heathrow.  That is the only place near birminham that has them.  They tend to fly long distance and that is the nearest main airport that flies to america and so on.

Check out www.flightlevel350.com, they have a few clips on exactly what you are asking. Most of the best views it seems to me are in Manchester. I don`t know how far that would be for you! These clips were taken by people like you with an interest in viewing planes landing and taking off, with a viewing area.
