7mo chiuhauha had blood drops after his poo and his strainning sometimes..happens with a food change..?

hes on merrick puppy and ceasers puppy, sometimes when he gets picky and wont eat ill buy the regulars in both those brands..that's when he has the occasional blood after he goes poo....hes is from a pet store and all they fed him was the regular cease rs..

my vet is aware of this hes been tested like 5x+ for parasites and was on parasitic medicine for a week when it first started

it first started a week after I had him when I gave him his Cesarer's mixed with his small bite small breed kibble..

ive has him a month now we don't give him hard food cause it causes a bleeding episode...

has anyone had a small 3lbChihuahuaa with a similar digestive issue

he eats about 2 cans on ceasers when he has that..and maybee 3/4 of the merrick when he has that

i know he needs to eat and i'm very afraid of hypoglycemicc..so if hes picky ill change his food..and my vet says its ok even if its low quality food as long has hes eating well...which he does when hes not being picky

he doesnt usually get diarreaha his poo is always soft usually..some days he goes more than others..and some days his poo is more firm than others...

any chi owner suggestions? thanks..and im sure you all want to yell at me for buying a pet store puppy...i have that covered..im trying to do whatever I can about the breeder and notifying the usda about all their violations..thanks for any help u guys can give me

i would get a second opinion on the vet stand point and i also would give him food but maybe your giving him too much food and keep him oon one food and give him water

It seems like your pup is allergic to the Merrick brand of food you've been giving him.

You said that he was fed the Ceaser's diet before you adopted him.

Do you know if he had any problems then?

If so, then there's your answer.

Oh, and since you bought a puppy from a pet store, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...
