7th grade does she really...

Question

my daughters going into 7th grade and i was wondering if she really needed:

protractor

compass

scientific calculator

Well I'm going into 8th grade and last year I needed all of those, however I was taking Algebra. The protractor and compass shouldn't be that expensive, but I know Scientific Calculators can go for over $100.

uhm, well.

for math yes :]

unless u want her to do some mental math.. and figure out angles with her head.

although, teachers also let you borrow or gives out protractors and compasses..

but they don't give out scientific calculators.

i'd recommend getting her all three though because when the teachers give out those stuff, it always gets lost until there's none left to borrow.  so, just get them so you'll have a back up (:

yes she will need those i did a few months ago in 7th, but then again i used it for my school and it's an academy...so get it just to be safe, there is no problem in being prepared right...and the scientific calculators are not that expensive, i bought mine at CVS for only 15$, you don't need to buy a big fancy one just one that will work with the math she'll do

Nope, if she needs those at all during the year, they'll (the teachers) will let her borrow it.

not a scirntific calculator, the earliest she would need it, other than high school, would be 8th grade if she was in advanced math. a protractor and compass you do need, but they are cheap, and usually teachers have them in the classromms, for those who dont have them. and graphic calculators are anywheres from $60-150 dollars, so look in a pawn shop, or online.

Might as well, if not she will eventually need it. I had that stuff probably even before 7th grade so is a good investment.
