  1. Yes you can put syrup but I wouldn't reccomend it. It's too much sugar. If you really must, just put a LITTLE TINY BIT. I think you can put fruit in the syrup like someone said...

kind of like the link above is an example

  2. no syrup or honey until after a year old.!!!!

these can contain boutulism spores and its ok for older stomachs, but not an infant.

get a tiny bit of corn syrup instead.

  3. Your baby doesn't know the difference, so why bother introducing her to something so useless in terms of nutrition. You are establishing her taste right now, so even if you don't like something, she may. The important thing is to try a wide variety and if she doesn't like it once don't completely give up on it. Of course if the dry pancakes really bother you (to feed her) why not try some pureed fruit on top, without sugar, babies don't need it.

  4. Is it ok? Yes. Is it necessary, no. Your baby doesn't know the difference between plain pancakes and yummy syrup on them so maybe getting her accustomed to sweet things wouldn't be the best idea. But, I have to admit, I occasionally put jelly on my daughter's toast lol.

  5. Your girl is eating well for 8 1/2 months! My son's almost a year now and we make pancakes a lot! For the whole, he just eats them plain... once or twice I've put a drop of syrup on a bite. He didn't seem to like it any better, and that's one habit I'm not ready to start yet. If she's eating them fine w/out the extra sugar then I wouldn't just add it for the sake of it. It won't hurt her, but seems like wasted calories etc in such a little body. We haven't tried bagels yet though-- that's a good idea! It'll be next on our list :-)

  6. my son is just 9 mos and he LOVES food lol! if we are eating something he is adamant about trying it. his doc said he could have anything except honey or anything he could choke on. (no food allergies in our family) so i say let her try everything, i would try not to give her to much sweet or spicy things, they do have sensitive little tummies. it's so much to watch him try new things, we haven't one thing he doesn't like. Have Fun!

  7. Babies usually happily eat things that adults would never imagine eating. (Like rice cereal...)  If she'll eat pancakes without syrup -- I wouldn't assume that she'll like them better with syrup.

But if you want to use a little syrup or jam -- it won't do her any harm. (I assume she isn't eating pancakes every day.)

  8. it would prbably be ok but it's a ton of sugar- instead you can make some type of fruit compote nad put it on it- my son loves it that way. he's 16 months old and will even sometimes eat pancakeds plain... i like em' that way too sometimes. but they are awesome with jsut some fruit

  9. you know what i put on my son's pancakes?  applesauce!  just a layer of applesauce (unsweetened applesauce).  he loves it and it's healthy!

i also mix fruit in the pancakes themselves like blueberries and bananas to make them more flavorful and healthier
