  1. You will also need heavier duty cable for a 10.5kW shower. An electrician would advise you as to what is necessary.

  2. A more powerful shower will probably require a thicker cable and bigger MCB, and will require an Electrical Installation Certificate, and notified to building control (if in England or Wales), either in advance or retrospectively by someone registered with a PART P scheme provider.

Any like-for-like replacement may be done by any competent person, and they are NOT required to be part P registered and one does not have to inform Building control.

  3. You are required by law to have a qualified, certificated electrician under EU rules for any electrical work in your property.

Should you ever sell the property, you may have a problem with the HIPS pack now compulsary.

  4. you will need a new MCB if you go 10.5Kw

Depending on the size of your wiring now, its not possible to say if you need bigger capacity wire.,

You may have wire ready for 10.5Kw, or you may not.

To be safe, replace it with the same rating shower.

Electrics in a bathroom are now "part p" protected.

The Shower must have a 13mA RCD and an MCB and a double pole pull switch with manaual indicator (in the bathroom).

As a general rule, don't put a 7.5 in where a 8.5 existed as the flow will be much lower and the shower less enjoyable .

  5. yes i had the same problem u r ok if you put in a 8.5KW if that's what u already have 8.5KW or lower is fine, but if u put in anything higher say 9.5KW then their is extra work involving your electrics
