Okay, so the thing is that my basic curve for my eyes are 8.7

B-b-but the lens that I want (circle lenses) that are available for me has the BC of 8.6.

Will it be alright if I order them anyways and wear it? D;

Or not?

  1. I wouldn't order anything that you have not been fit for.  For example, there are contacts that I want (I'm also 8.7) and have tried on that were 8.6 and they were too tight on my eyes and the contacts didn't move like they were supposed to.  It will create a lot of problems, some serious, if you were contacts that are not fit properly.

    Contacts are a medical device and should be thought of as such.  You need to have an Rx for contacts and should only order what you have been prescribed.  BC are not always interchangeable and can result in problems such as corneal ulcers or worse.

  2. An 8.7 or 8.6 are the same thing...base curves of soft lenses fit 1/10 either side.

    But...the main problem could be the fact that  it will be a different material and water content than the ones you wear now. THAT is what could cause a fitting problem.

    The same base curve, but different material could make it fit too tight, or too loose.

    It's always a gamble to switch brands without having had trial lenses fitted because there is no sure way to know if they will fit right just by the numbers.

    I doubt anyone carries them in store to be able to try a sample either...so you just have to take a chance on them not working for you, and be out of pocket.
