I have an 8 1/2 year old that loves to sing and he is constantly watching coutry vidoes and listenting to CDs to learn the songs. He recently asked me if he can learn the guitar. My question is I have a guitar that was mine, would this be too big for him to learn on and if so do they have smaller sizes for children. Also what is the best way for him to learn.

  1. He sounds like an extremely gifted child.

can he play songs on guitar or on any other instrument just from hearing it once or twice?

I say go for it. I child like that dosnt come too often.

and yes they do come in sizes for children. Try goin to your local music store and see what they have and ask around. I'm sure there is someone in there willing to help you out.

  2. Yes he can. You should see if he can hold your guitar first then ask if he wants one that is size. Go with him to a music store to pick a guitar and ask there if any one is teaching the guitar.
