  1. yes, but wot does the scratch bit mean in pool? or did u have a sratch lol

  2. Basic bar rules - You lost.

BCA (league or tourny)rules it is ball in hand

  3. It all depends on the the rules you are playing with.

I have played pool all over the world for the past 40 years and the first question you ask is the black ball rule.

Some games consider a scratch shot as a legit move, some consider it a foul.

Sort out the rules before you put the money the on the table. With the advent of tables that keep the balls once they have been potted and cannot be re spotted (Money maker) the rules had to be altered to make the machine earn.

I miss the old days when every shot was called and if you didn't make it the balls were replaced. Impossible game in a bar today

    Rules everywhere have changed with

  4. As shown above it depends on the rules that you are playing by. These should be established before starting the game. "No Slop Rules" is not an acceptable set of rules. There are several different versions of this "Rule". The rules should be clearly stated either by the pool establishment or a rule book on hand.

  5. Not by world standard rules

But by most so called bar rules you would ck the rules first

  6. Any time you are on the 8 ball, whether you make it or not, and scratch you lose the game.

Yes, in APA you lose anytime an 8 balls goes in early or you are on the 8 ball and scratch.  You win if you make the 8 on the break and don't scratch.

  7. No, you don't lose. Your opponent gets ball in hand, anywhere on the table (as with any other foul). It would have been a loss if you pocketed the 8 ball and scratched, however.

  8. (Most) Bar rules:  You lost.

BCA rules:  The other player gets ball in hand.

    TAP rules:  You lost.

APA rules:  The other player gets ball in hand (I believe--I haven't actually played on an APA league yet.  Can somebody confirm this?)

As seen here, or by other posts, it all depends on the rules you are playing by.  KNOW THEM BEFORE YOU START--it makes life easier.

  9. Whatever foul on the black you lose the game so unfortunatly yes you did lose, but stick to snooker its a lot better.
